Standardization in Graphic Arts Production It becomes almost impossible to export graphic arts product onto European market if there is no proof of using standards of industry, sooner than later standards will be demanded onto local market as well. Standardization of our profession potentiates lower production cost, complaints reduction, new sources of revenue through new ventures, easier appearance on international markets, especially European markets. In cooperation with German Printing and Media Industries Federation, FOGRA developed Process Standard Offset (PSO) an industry oriented description and standardization procedure for printed products. In accordance with international standard series ISO 12647, PSO becomes internationally accepted. Using PSO you guarantee quality of production of whole printed product, from creating a file to printing process. Quality becomes measurable, verifiable and achievable. How to Avoid Missunderstanings With Clients To avoid unwanted parameters while producing a product outside of technical and technological specifications, main prerequisites should be defined in advance. This is the only way to manage successful business. Mutual agreement is essential in production which can trigger unsolvable misunderstanding even cause lawsuit in the worst case scenario. To avoid inconvenience, mutual agreement of both parties should be signed in a contract. The contract defines details as production, deadlines, quality, payment, potential delays, etc., and it’s good prerequisite to avoid misunderstanding.
