"4th dPrint – trends in digital printing" was held


Organized by the Institute of Packaging and Graphic Arts Tectus - IatT and Ambalaža/REGprint trade journal from Zagreb, golden sponsorship of Fortuna Digital Group from Split (representative of Hewlett-Packard), in March in Zagreb’s Hotel Antunovic held on 4th conference "dPrint - trends in digital printing".
Opening the conference, Drena Milijevic, director of IatT and chief editor of Packaging/REGprint trade journal said that power of dPrint for the fourth year in a row lies in the commitment to follow current global events in the field of digital printing, reacting to development and qualitative advances of supplier of equipment and complete digital solutions.

Beatrice Klose, General Secretary in INTERGRAF - European Association for printed and digital communications with headquarters in Belgium, asked the participants an interesting question: does universal digitalization leads to the end of era of the print? Mrs Klose immediately answered negative. Even though print is still the most trusted, it also has to accept certain changes to add value. She added that the coexistence of print and digital media provides plenty of space for further innovative opportunities and together they represent a successful story.

Igor Benaković, consultant for business restructuring and transitions from the company Poslovna riznica thinks that printing industry today has to deal with series obstacles when dealing with business development. To meet the specific customer needs become the primary issue that entails the issue of proper investment in equipment for digital printing, which is one of the essential prerequisites for delivering services of added value.
Dean Vranić, chief creative officer from Imago advertising agency, informed participants on fact how digital printing can improve marketing campaign. 
Hewlett-Packard as market leader in large format printing was presented by Vice Stanić from Fortuna Digital Group and experts from HP, Joerg Peter Kober i Doru Stoican.
It was not a question of whether the digital printing overtakes market, but how quickly will it happen. Digital printing is coming, whether we like it or not.  Personalization offered by digital printing is very applicable in marketing, as it is already recognized by many brands that increased their productivity.



Martjin Van den Broek from Screen Europe in cooperation with MCA PRO Company from Slovenia spoke on special applications in large format digital print. 
New possibilities of Canon solutions of large formats presented Rob Koenen and Oleksandr Makovsky. They indicated on important trends that will help consumers make appropriate decisions about their own business.
Dean Tolp from Zagreb's company Grafik.net introduced the participants with their possibilities, highlighting representation of Durst, renowned manufacturer of digital equipment for large format printing.   
Andrej Štrus from Xeikon Austria presented growing opportunities in the application of digital printing in the packaging industry, exposing Xeikon machines with its benefit offered for that area.
Zoltan Kelemen from the Hungarian company Sericol presented power of Fujifilm inkjet solutions in commercial printing, Sign & Display and Packaging industry sector.

The conference was concluded by Hrvoje Kokot from Grafo Servis Company, who works as a consultant in the area of EU funding, introducing the possibility of withdrawing the money for the printing industry from these funds.
d PRINT this year gathered a respectable number of participants from graphic industry, as well as print service users.
