In November last year certification audit for FSSC 22000 standard was conducted in Vetropack Straža glass factory, Hum na Sutli, Croatia, and earlier this year factory received certification according to FSSC 22000 certification scheme. This standard is used in food industry and it is an internationally recognized management system that ensures the safety of food products. It applies to all manufacturers of materials at all stages of processing, production, storage and distribution of food products which come into contact with food.
Director Tihomir Premužak spoke about requirements necessary for obtaining the prestigious certificate as well as advantages of glass as a packaging material, and reveals why he is not satisfied glass recycling rate in Croatia.
