Teo Čolan, Environmental Protection Advisor to the Director of Environmental Protection and Energy Efficiency Fund
We Have Met the Objectives EU Set out to Meet by 2018
We discussed current results and work that awaits Croatia regarding packaging waste management on the eve of Croatian accession to the EU with Teo Čolan, Environmental Protection Advisor to the Director of Environmental Protection and Energy Efficiency Fund. According to Čolan, as for packaging waste there is no way we will have to pay penalties for unachieved goals when we become an EU member. We had 205,502 tons of packaging waste reported in 2010, while 125,000 tons, i.e. 60.9 per cent, were collected. This means that at the moment we have already met objectives EU set out to meet by 2018. Those objectives specify 50 per cent of waste to be processed.
