Project owner: City of Velika Gorica
 Partners on this project that lasted from August 2008 to November 2009 were City of Velika Gorica, VG Poduzetnički centar, Zagreb County, Sisak Moslavina County, VG Čistoća d.o.o., Association Zelena mreža aktivističkih grupa and ACEGAS APS S.p.A. General goals of the project were reducing the amounts of communal waste at local landfills and organizing collection of waste suitable for recycling, raising awareness about individual responsibility and improving the quality of life in the selected areas.
After the installation of 30 underground containers at ten new "green islands" in Velika Gorica, a 33.46 percent growth in quantity of collected paper waste and 32.7 percent in glass waste was recorded in comparison with the first semester. 140 Info Days were organized with more than 95 educational workshops where 1425 children between 12 and 14 years of age have been educated and 1003 questionnaires have been collected. In addition to numerous advertisements and reports in media, 80,000 flyers was printed – "Trashcan on a Diet", "Waste and Recycling", "Recycling Is Not a Nuisance" and "This Is Not a Flyer", 30,000 brochures "Waste Is Your Problem As Well" and 400 posters which were distributed to citizens during the info days and together with the bills of five communal companies from the both counties.
